Day 1
Start Your Journey at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary and Murchison Falls

Your journey begins early with a drive from Kampala to the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, where you’ll track rhinos on foot, an extraordinary experience with expert guides. Afterwards, you’ll continue to Murchison Falls National Park, enjoying a sunset safari along the Nile River. Keep an eye out for elephants, lions, giraffes, and buffalo as you explore. Overnight at Hornbill Bush Lodge. 

Explore Murchison Falls

After an early breakfast, head out for a morning game drive through the park’s savannah. Then, set off on a thrilling boat safari on the Nile, getting up close to hippos, crocodiles, and elephants. The highlight is a visit to Murchison Falls, where the Nile squeezes through a narrow gorge and plummets down 43 meters in a breathtaking display of nature’s power. Stay overnight at Hornbill Bush Lodge. 

Scenic Drive to Kibale Forest

Today, you go on a scenic 8-hour drive to Kibale Forest, famous for its chimpanzees. You’ll travel through lush countryside, stopping for lunch along the way. Once you reach your lodge near Fort Portal, rest and enjoy a well-deserved dinner. 

Chimpanzee Tracking & Bigodi Wetland Hike

At Kanyanchu, enjoy a briefing before setting off for chimpanzee tracking in the forest. As you trek through the rainforest, you’ll encounter a variety of other primates and wildlife. Afterwards, visit the Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary, a haven for birdwatchers and wildlife lovers. Return to your lodge for lunch and relaxation. 

Transfer to Queen Elizabeth Park

Drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park, known for its diverse wildlife. After checking into your lodge overlooking the Kazinga Channel, enjoy a game drive through the park, spotting elephants, lions, and herds of Uganda Kob. If you’re lucky, you might also see leopards and giant forest hogs. Optional: Hot air balloon safari with a bush breakfast for an unforgettable experience.

Game Drive & Boat Cruise on Kazinga Channel

Start with a morning game drive through the park’s diverse habitats, spotting nocturnal animals as they retreat for the day. Later, embark on a Kazinga Channel boat cruise, where you’ll see an incredible concentration of hippos, crocodiles, and a wide variety of birds. Return to your lodge for a relaxing evening. 

Tree-Climbing Lions in Ishasha

Visit the Ishasha region of Queen Elizabeth, famous for its tree-climbing lions. Spend the day exploring the area and spotting these unique lions lounging in fig trees. Afterwards, head to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest for an overnight stay at Bakiga Lodge, a perfect base for tomorrow’s gorilla trek.

The moment you’ve been waiting for – gorilla trekking! After a briefing, embark on a trek through the dense rainforest to find one of the mountain gorilla families. Spend an hour observing these gentle giants, a truly life-changing experience. Afterwards, relax at your lodge and enjoy a cultural walk in a Batwa village if time allows. 

Lake Mburo National Park

Drive to Lake Mburo National Park, famous for its serene landscapes and wildlife. Take a relaxing boat cruise on Lake Mburo, where you’ll see hippos, crocodiles, and a variety of birds. Optionally, enjoy a guided nature walk for a more intimate connection with the environment. 

Return to Entebbe

On your final day, enjoy a morning game drive through Lake Mburo. Afterwards, stop at Masaka for lunch and visit the Equator for photos and souvenirs. You’ll also visit Mpambire to witness Buganda Royal Drum makers at work. Finally, arrive at Entebbe International Airport in the late afternoon, bringing your unforgettable 10-day safari to a close.
