Masai Mara Road Trip

This is a short safari featuring Masai Mara National Reserve. The safari departs Nairobi in the morning and involves a drive down to the floor of the Rift Valley. Making a stop at the viewpoint to see the escarpment and the awesome sight of the valley and its features. Arrive at Masai Mara in time for lunch. Follow it with a late afternoon game drive. This will introduce you to Kenya’s most popular game sanctuary. Masai Mara National Reserve is a Savannah wilderness in southern Kenya boarding the Serengeti National Park in Tanzania. The landscape is full of grassy plains and rolling hills crossed by the Mara and Talek rivers.

It is an African finest wildlife destination known for for its abundance of cats portrayed by many wildlife documentaries. This offers tourists many reasons to visit this animal paradise. The profusion of cats is remarkable. The annual wildebeests and zebra migration enters the reserve from July to September. This makes for concentrated wildlife interaction. It is famous as it is home to the big five. It also hosts zebras, giraffes, hyenas, warthogs, cheetahs, and many others. Additionally, it houses a variety of bird species. The Masai Mara’s scenery is dominated by grassland Savannah but pockets of acacia woodland, riparian forest and rocky hills. It offers various tourist activities like game drives, nature walks, balloon safaris, cultural visits, bird watching, and bush dinners.

Itinerary

Day 1

NAIROBI TO MAASAI MARA

Depart Nairobi in the morning and drive to the floor of the Rift Valley to Maasai Mara Game Reserve with a lunch on the t Narok town the biggest Maasai town. Then proceed to Masai Mara arriving in the afternoon for your afternoon game drive. Dinner and overnight at either in a tented camp Approx. transit time: 6 hrs.

Day 2

MAASAI MARA

Spend the day in Maasai Mara, Kenya’s most popular game sanctuary where you will have the best opportunity of spotting the Big Five – lion, leopard, buffalo, rhino and elephant. Game drives include going out with picnic lunch boxes to spend entire day in the park. You will also have the option of visiting a local Masai village at an extra cost. All meals and overnight at the Camp.

Day 3

RETURN TO NAIROBI

After breakfast, have an optional Masai village cultural visit and drive back to Nairobi, arriving approximately. 17:00hrs. Drop off at your place of accommodation. Approximate transit time: 6 hrs.
