Mt Elgon Trekking

Hiking Mount Elgon takes you to one of the best places for mountain climbing and hiking. This also allows you to explore Mount Elgon National Park.  This is a short but rewarding hike up Mount Elgon standing at 4321 metres. It is the fifth-highest mountain in East Africa with well-established trails. Mt Elgon National Park is home to a variety of wildlife such as buffalo, waterbuck, bushbuck, spotted hyena, elephant, oribi, and leopards among others as well as more than 250 bird species.

Itinerary
Day 1
BUNDARI VILLAGE

Leave Bundari village after breakfast and hike for 13kms to sasa River camp
(2800m) through the rich highlands. Dinner and over night at the camp.

MADE CARE CAMP

After an early breakfast like for 5km to made care camp for lunch. Explore these ancient cares once used as hide out in tribe wars Dinner and overnight at the camp

WAGAGAI

Leave after breakfast after breakfast and hike up to Wagagai(4300m) and the Jackson summit which are lower than Wagagai (4200).
Descend to sasa River for dinner and overnight.

BUDANDAN VILLAGE

Descend the last bit of the mountain to Budandan village where the trip ends. An optional of an extra day to visit the hot springs and the caidera is advisable.
