Itinerary

Day 1

NAIROBI – MT KENYA

Pick up from your hotel or the airport and drive north through the highlands and coffee farms of Mt. Kenya, checking into mountain lodge in time for lunch. Relax at the hotel balcony in the afternoon and watch the animals at the salt lick / water hole below from a safe distance.

Dinner and overnight at mountain lodge.

Day 2

MT KENYA – SAMBURU

After breakfast drive to samburu National Reserve arriving in time for lunch at Samburu Serena lodge or similar. Afternoon spent bird watching in the reserves home to over 365 species.

Day 3

SAMBURU – LAKE BARINGO

After breakfast drive to Lake Baringo which is set dramatically at the foot of the Laikipia Escarpment right in the sweltering desert for bird watchers. Check in at Lake Baringo club and in your room, you will find details of the bird life a round the area. A resident ornithologist is on hand to accompany guide.

Day 4

LAKE BOGORIA

Full day in Baringo with a visit to lake Bogoria. The lake is host to thousands of shocking – pink flamingoes as well as other water birds such the pelican and Gerbe. After picnic lunch visit the hot steaming geysers found in the area. These are spectacular displays of superheated water sprays that shot out of natural underground rocks.

Day 5

BARINGO –NAKURU

After breakfast drive to Lake Nakuru National Park with at lake Nakuru lodge. Afternoon spent bird spotting around the park and lakeshore where you will find the favourite habitat of migrating flamingoes, resident cormorants, pelicans, Black winged silts including the seasonal Ruffs.

Day 6

NAKURU – MARA

After an early breakfast depart from the Maasai Mara Reserve arriving in time for lunch at Mara Sopa lodge. Afternoon spent bird spotting in the vast reserve where there’s plenty to see including the plains mile variety of wild game.

Dinner and overnight at Mara Sopa lodge.

Day 7

MAASAI MARA

Full day in the Mara with Various activities planned. The lodge will provide all meals in between the outings.

Day back to Nairobi after breakfast, arriving at lunchtime, and drop off at your hotel.
