Next, venture into Queen Elizabeth National Park, where you’ll search for tree-climbing lions in Ishasha and take a breathtaking boat safari along the Kazinga Channel, teeming with hippos, crocodiles, and vibrant birdlife.

Day 1
Arrival in Entebbe – Welcome to Uganda

Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by our guide from Journeys Uganda. The day begins with a transfer to your hotel, where you’ll have time to relax and acclimate after your journey. For the first evening in Uganda, enjoy a beautiful sunset on the shores of Lake Victoria, one of the largest freshwater lakes in the world. This will be the perfect way to kick off your safari experience.

Overnight: Lake Victoria Serena

Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park

After a hearty breakfast, go on a scenic road trip north to Murchison Falls National Park, a renowned wildlife haven and Uganda’s largest national park. Along the way, take in the picturesque landscapes, and stop at the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for a chance to track the endangered white rhino – one of the Big 5 animals you’ll encounter on this journey.

Arrive in Murchison Falls in the late afternoon and check into your lodge, offering spectacular views of the park.

Explore Murchison Falls National Park

Today, you’ll explore the diverse ecosystems of Murchison Falls National Park. Start with a thrilling morning game drive through the savannah, looking out for elephants, lions, giraffes, buffalo, and other wildlife. This park is famous for its population of leopards, so keep your eyes peeled for this elusive cat!

In the afternoon, enjoy a boat cruise along the Nile River, where you’ll get close-up views of hippos, crocodiles, and a wide array of birds. The boat cruise takes you to the base of the dramatic Murchison Falls, where the Nile River forces its way through a narrow gorge, creating a powerful waterfall. The views here are truly awe-inspiring.

Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park

After breakfast, it’s time to drive to Kibale Forest National Park, Uganda’s primate capital. Known for its incredible biodiversity, Kibale is home to chimpanzees, which you will have the chance to track on your visit. The drive will take you through lush landscapes and scenic villages, offering a chance to glimpse rural life in Uganda. Upon arrival, check into your lodge, located in the heart of the forest.

Chimpanzee Tracking in Kibale Forest

Early this morning, head to Kibale’s Chimpanzee Tracking site, where our expert guides will take you deep into the forest in search of these fascinating creatures. Spending time with chimpanzees in their natural habitat is a memorable experience, as you watch them interact with each other, feed, and play. Apart from chimpanzees, the forest is home to other primates such as red colobus monkeys and black-and-white colobus.

In the afternoon, explore the Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary, a community-run conservation area. The sanctuary offers an excellent opportunity for birdwatching, with over 200 species, as well as a chance to see more primates.

Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

This morning, go on a scenic drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park, located at the foothills of the Rwenzori Mountains. Upon arrival, check into your lodge, which boasts panoramic views of the park and the nearby lakes. Queen Elizabeth is famous for its rich diversity, including the famous tree-climbing lions of Ishasha and a host of other wildlife.

Morning Game Drive & Boat Safari on Kazinga Channel

Start the day with a morning game drive through Queen Elizabeth’s diverse habitats, spotting a range of animals from elephants, buffaloes, and lions to a variety of antelopes. You’ll then enjoy a relaxing boat safari along the Kazinga Channel, famous for its large populations of hippos, elephants, and a plethora of bird species, including flamingos and pelicans. In the late afternoon, you’ll begin your journey back to Entebbe for your flight home or next destination.
