Day 1
Arrival in the Pearl of Africa

Your adventure begins upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, where you’ll be warmly welcomed by your Solo Safari Update guide. From here, enjoy a scenic transfer to your hotel, just a short drive from the airport. Spend your evening relaxing at Lake Victoria Serena, where you can unwind in luxury while enjoying the beautiful surroundings.

Overnight: Lake Victoria Serena (B&B)

Journey to Kibale Forest

After breakfast, begin your journey to the picturesque Fort Portal, nestled at the base of the majestic Rwenzori Mountains. If you prefer a quicker trip, you have the option of a scenic flight to Kasese via Aerolink (additional cost). Upon arrival, drive to Kibale Forest National Park, home to 13 species of primates, including chimpanzees and rare L’Hoest monkeys. Visit the Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary, a haven for over 130 bird species and 8 types of primates. At the end of your day, check into Kyaninga Lodge, where you’ll be surrounded by breathtaking views of Lake Kyaninga and the Rwenzori Mountains.

Chimpanzee Tracking in Kibale Forest

This morning, go on an exciting chimpanzee tracking adventure in the heart of Kibale Forest. Accompanied by an experienced ranger, observe the playful chimps in their natural habitat. Along the way, learn about the diverse plant life and other forest inhabitants. In the afternoon, explore Bigodi Wetland to spot birds, butterflies, and the elusive sitatunga antelope. Return to your lodge for a relaxing evening.

Drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Today, head to Queen Elizabeth National Park, a stunning wildlife haven nestled at the foot of the Rift Valley. As you travel, enjoy views of the Rwenzori Mountains. Queen Elizabeth is known for its incredible birdlife, boasting over 600 species, making it a birder’s paradise. Upon arrival, check into Katara Lodge or Mweya Lodge, both offering panoramic views of the park’s vast landscape.

Boat Safari on the Kazinga Channel

Start your day early with a game drive through the Kasanyi sector, known for its lion populations. You might even spot a leopard or Giant Forest Hog. In the afternoon, go on a boat safari along the Kazinga Channel, which connects Lake Edward and Lake George. Keep your eyes peeled for hippos, crocodiles, and a variety of water birds, such as the African Skimmer and Great White Pelicans.

In Search of the tree climbing lions – Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

Travel through Ishasha, part of Queen Elizabeth National Park, where you may spot the famous tree-climbing lions. Continue your journey to the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, a UNESCO World Heritage site and the home of nearly half of the world’s remaining mountain gorillas. Check into Mahogany Springs Lodge, where you’ll enjoy spectacular views of the forest and a peaceful atmosphere.

Gorilla Tracking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

After a hearty breakfast, set off on an unforgettable gorilla tracking experience. With the guidance of a ranger, you’ll trek through the dense forest to find a family of these magnificent creatures. Spend an hour with them, watching them interact and feed. This rare and emotional encounter is the highlight of any safari. In the afternoon, visit the Batwa people to learn about the indigenous culture of the region.

Departure to Entebbe

After breakfast, begin your journey back to Entebbe, stopping for a scenic picnic and a photo opportunity at the Equator. If you wish, opt for a flight from Kihihi to Entebbe. Upon arrival, enjoy a dayroom at Lake Victoria Serena, where you can relax before your flight. After a farewell dinner, our guide will transfer you to the airport for your departure.
